Management Fiesta
Management Fiesta is a yearly event held by MGM's IOM in a bid to make students understand the working of different industries. This event facilitates the first year students to know where their interest lies and help them to decide on their specialization that they take up in their final year.
Students are made to form groups. These groups take up an industry, and form a virtual company. The group has to demonstrate the working of each and every department. This exercise exposes the students to various departments in an organization and its working. Further the group is asked to give corporates presentation of their company. The group also discusses the future endeavors of their virtual company based on their present facts and figures. Based on these parameters the groups are judged.
The virtual industry show promotes team work through understanding of how companies function and what role does the management play. It teaches student how they need to groom themselves in a team while working for an organization. The entire activity gives a feel about the corporate organization and also helps students to decide on their specializations.
The entire event is graced by doyens from the different sectors and Management Gurus who judge and simultaneously provide valuable insights. Some of them who witnessed the Management Feista in the year 2007 were Devendra Ringangaonkar( Practising Company Secretary), Mr. Alok Shrivastav (Marketing Manager, Lokmat), Miss Manpreet (Citifinancial).
Kunjika
In a bid to nurture talent, trying to give wings to the dreams of students and inspiring them to reach for the sky, MGM's IOM has created a common platform "Kunjika", that spurs student's innovation, creativity and excellence. This platform allows all the participants to showcase their talent and hence we call this event " the Unlocking of Potential-Kunjika"-An Intercollegiate Live Case Study Competition which is organized every year.
In this event, the students are given live cases to study, thus enabling them to access practical knowledge about the current market trends. It makes students to unwind all their potentials in the field, as well as off the field. They are tested not only for their endeavor that they have showed in doing the analysis of the case, but also the way they present their case to the masses. The event also ,gives a broader exposure to students for implementing their organizing skills.
The event is a yearly event and is conducted in the month of April and is blessed by eminent personalities from different sectors of the society who have a deep insight about the subject. Mr. Ravin Sharma (Operation Head) of RPG's Spencers, Mr. Ram Marlapalle (HR Head), Endurance and Mr. Ashish Garde, Marketing Manager of Nirlep are some of the few experts from the corporate world, who have constituted the judging panel in the past.
The event attracts all management schools from all corners of Aurangabad, thereby shaping the entire event in a competitive one. Each college is allowed to send maximum of two teams consisting of maximum three members each. The respective teams have to present their findings about the topic and are made to give views in the light of the subject.
Management Laboratory (ML)
MGM'S IOM has a unique program of using the corporate interaction as a means to enhance academic and industry knowledge through Management Laboratory.
The ML has four phases
1. Learning Phase: Students spend about 2-3 days in organizations to understand their working and their functions.
2. Working Phase: Students spend about 4-5 days in organizations on specific projects.
3. Report Finalization Phase: Students spend 2-3 weeks in institute analyzing issues in the working plan.
4. Technical Material Preparation Phase: Here the students prepare case material and notes from the reports generated.
The Corporates appreciate rigors of management education and research imparted by MGM'S IOM which is reflected in the growing number of MGM'S IOM students involved in corporate events in the city.
Through corporate interactions MGM'S IOM provides its students with hands on experience with industrial problems and provides them with an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real life situations.
